Chris Scurfield

Sorry to have to tell you but we've had some very sad news about Chris Scurfield who debuted for the 1s at Pontefract at the start of the season. Unfortunately he died in a car accident on Friday evening in New Zealand.

From County Down he came to Yorkshire to find work on local farms and over the summer he joined us at the Gannock. The 22 year old was a cracking lad around the place and went on to play seven times for Malton & Norton across our 3 mens teams before heading to New Zealand to farm over there on a year away.

Orginally a back row he was thrust into action at Pontefract at hooker and played three games for the 3s in the back line at 12.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to Chris's friends and family.
