It’s nearly time,

With less than a week before we take to the pitch in our first competitive fixture of the 23/24 season I’m sure most are eagerly awaiting to see how this season pans out plus to check out how cool the new anniversary kit will be.  Like last season Crock’s has Stoner and Triff helping on the training paddock with JR continuing as senior squad team manager, Lummers takes care of the twos and Irish Pat is again marshalling the threes.

Saturday we’re at home against Rochdale who we suffered a defeat to in our last outing, I’d expect an open game after a total of 64 points scored in March.   Our deck is looking class and if anyone wants to see for themselves the kick off is 3pm

Some will already know but we’ve welcomed new and old players to and back to the Gannock over the summer. Coming in we’ve Hooker Vasco returning from Uni, Pooley from teaching in Thailand, Boothy is back in black this season but you’ll have to wait 3 weeks due to a ban carrying over. Archie Johnson has signed his first senior form at Malton after returning from Uni, Ex-York and Falcons junior Jake Taylor signs to bolster the front row.

New to the area Big Daz the former Portsmouth 1st XV skipper will add A LOT to whichever team he plays in, we also welcome Blair who has joined from a far.

Unfortunately we’ve lost backrow Hughesy to Driffield of all places, we’re obviously disappointed to lose a class man.  There’s also a few young guns going off to Uni we expect them to duel register if they find another team.

Changes on the committee to with Russell Stead elected as Chair, with Rupert Armitage as his vice and we’ve also welcomed Solly and Sophie as volunteers on to the committee.

We are waiting for the membership handbooks and season tickets to be sorted and they’ll be issued asap.  The lads on the gate will be given a list of season ticket holders please say your name and they’ll check the list.

Game entry remains £7.50 and a polite reminder please use your membership card at the bar and you may be asked at the kitchen hatch due us now having to spilt member and non-member purchases.

Thank you and see you all on the field
