This Saturday we require 60 men to take to the field for the first time in the 2019/20 Season with the 1st away at Driffield and a joint home fixtures for the 2s & 3s against Driffield 3rds and 4ths respectively.
This marks an important time in our senior section with the future of the third XV hanging in the balance still without a committed skipper/manager or management team at this time we want to hear from our players, Ours 2s have had two hard fixture's on the bounce against York 2s and Selby 2s whom both play in stronger divisions and head back into East Yorkshire merit league action looking to show their promise but require a full team and subs to compete at this level. The 3ds entertain a Driffield 4th who they beat at home last season 71 -5 in a more social league.
3rd XV games can either count towards the table standings but most games are classed as social games. This is the 5th season our 3s have being a "social team" which this season seems to be having an ill effect with commitment within the senior section as a whole. We want to hear from you if you can play and contribute towards senior rugby at Malton & Norton this is a polite reminder to all players past, present and future senior players we train Tuesday & Thursday 7-9.
Our Club Development Officer Rich John richard.john5@outlook.com would like to hear from you. Rich wants to run specific rugby based training for our players who can only commit to a 3rd team and a training session a week. CONTACT HIM FOR MORE INFO...
Our 3rd XV is currently our entry level into senior rugby and without it, we lose the ability to offer a level to the players who aren't experienced enough or committed enough for our top two senior teams. Let's not lose something which should be the pride of our club.
