At Malton & Norton RUFC, we’re not jumping on the trend of “Players Needed” or “Now Recruiting” posts — because for us, recruitment never stops. Our doors and inboxes are always open to senior players, returning veterans, or anyone who believes rugby could be for them.

We’re proud to be a 100% member-owned, volunteer-driven, family-friendly community rugby club, where every player and member can help shape the future of rugby in Ryedale.

Following today’s exciting announcement about our new kit supplier, we’re also thrilled to share important news about the growth of our playing structure.

Last year saw the successful launch of the Malton Rugby Academy in partnership with Malton School — a key step in developing the future of our club. Building on that, our Rugby Committee and team coaches have made the decision to redefine our 3rd XV, aligning it more closely with the 1st and 2nd XV. This will strengthen our senior player pathway, providing more opportunities for players aged 17 (if deemed ready) or 18 and above to progress to the highest levels of competitive rugby.

One message has come through loud and clear from our players: the desire to push themselves to the next level. We’ve listened. We believe a stronger 2nd team, backed by a more competitive and integrated 3rd team, will raise standards across the board — on the pitch and off it.

But we also recognise and value the vital role of social rugby, both within our club and across the wider rugby community. That’s why, as of 15th May 2025, we are excited to announce the relaunch of our 4th XV, potentially 20 years after it last played. The goal is to schedule 8–10 fixtures for the 2025/26 season, aimed at like-minded social and veterans teams, with evening matches where possible to suit lifestyles and commitments.

Whether you’re an aspiring young player, a seasoned veteran, or just looking to enjoy the social side of the game again, Malton & Norton RUFC has a place for you.

Come and be part of something meaningful.
