We are proud to donate a new set of training balls to Malton School, helping to further enhance students’ experiences of Rugby Union.
This forms part of our long-term partnership to grow the game locally and to strengthen our Rugby Academy link with the school. In total, we have donated 24 size four and 24 size five balls to ensure students of all ages have the opportunity to develop their skills with quality equipment.
Accepting the donation on behalf of Malton School were Mrs Hopkin and Mr Hodgson, who shared: “We can see the benefits and joy rugby brings to both boys and girls. For many, their first try, first tackle, or even their first introduction to rugby happens on the school field. Having updated playing equipment is a huge benefit from a teaching point of view, but most importantly for the students themselves.Â
Collectively with the Scarborough & District School Sports Association, and representatives from Malton & Norton RUFC and Scarborough RUFC, we’re working to grow the school game—whether that’s tackle, tag, or touch. We’d like to thank Malton & Norton RUFC and its members for this kind gesture.”
It’s no secret that rugby often plays second or even third fiddle to other school sports. Using old or tired equipment can discourage even the keenest players—let alone those picking up a rugby ball for the very first time. We hope this small donation helps spark a lifetime of rugby joy for Malton students. The trust & committment Malton School has shown the club and myself to support in lesson rugby development & lead the Rugby Academy hopefully sparking the next generation of ruggby players to entertain you at the Gannock or beyond.
Swift Service again from Newitts Sports, thank you.
Next job: Re-raise the Rugby posts on the school field! ![]()
