A successful twelve seasons for Malton & Norton with Sam Triffitt at the helm is now part of club history, as he’s decided to pass on the baton in recent months.

I’m still chasing him for a word or two, but for now — and I’m sure I speak for most, if not all, of the lads who’ve played for or against Malton during his time as skipper — he’s been a true on-field warrior. Sam would carry the team through a minefield if he had to, and it’s been a pleasure to call him my captain for most of my playing days here.

Here’s to a couple more years of aching on a Sunday morning — cheers, Skip.
