Volunteer Recognition 
On Saturday, Brantingham Park—home of Hull Ionians—played host to an inspiring celebration as volunteers from across Yorkshire gathered for this season’s Honda Volunteer Awards.
As a proudly 100% member-owned club, Malton & Norton RUFC thrives thanks to the incredible dedication of our volunteers. Whether it’s supporting individual teams or shaping the future of the club, every contribution helps drive our community forward.
We are delighted to congratulate our six outstanding nominees, each of whom received a certificate and a thank-you gift from the RFU in recognition of their invaluable service:
Unsung Hero Category:
• Clare Finlinson
• Tony Finlinson
• Pete Hartley
• Kate Towse
• Hannah Plowman
Each received a warm and well-deserved round of applause for their selfless efforts.
Connecting Communities Category:
• Natalie Featherstone
She too was celebrated with a certificate and gift with a heartfelt applause for her nomination.
Out of approximately 60 nominations from across Yorkshire, five were selected by Yorkshire RFU to be put forward to the national RFU awards—representing the categories of Unsung Hero, Inclusivity, and Connecting Communities. Two of these five are now being considered at the national level.
Despite our volunteers showing incredible work within our club none were nominated by Yorkshire for going on for the national award.
Congratulations to all, and an enormous thank you to every volunteer who gives their time, passion, and energy to Malton & Norton RUFC. You are the heartbeat of our club.
