Dear fellow Malton & Norton Rugby Union Football Club members,
We can’t wait to be back on the pitch or in the club after another Gannock classic, in just over a months’ time we be on the eve of another full season from u6 through to our newly formed “veterans XV”. Hopefully we’ll be celebrating successes in our fully refurbished function room week one of three in the refit has been completed. Changing rooms 5, 6 in the old block are having a spruce up and will be used throughout the week for senior training with 8 new showers ready to hose the Gannock muck off us, Leaving the newer block ready and tidy for weekend fixtures.
We’ve a planned party after our first home game of the season on the 10th September against Scarborough. Johnsey has arranged Karaoke, I’m sure they’ll be a bit of drink flowing hopefully many can attend and we’ll kick off our year in good form.
IMPORTANT - Age Grade Parents need to sign onto GMS and re-affiliate their child with us to be able to train or play matches. This is for both Boys and Girls u6s right through until the child turns 18. **** Parents please make a profile for yourself, you add playing children after you have a profile.
Come the 1st of August Rugby club subscriptions are due as a committee we’ve tried to keep a lid on subscription and sponsorship renewals to reward those that remained loyal and helped the club tremendously during the COVID year(s). We spent a good few weeks discussing what’s fair with regards club subscriptions and what we think is reasonable going forward into hopefully a great year for all our teams.
Membership Rates for the 2022/23 season accepted by the committee are as follows
- Social Subscriptions
£1050 - Life Membership with Two season tickets. *Good value if you’re going to be around forever*
£130 - Vice President with Two season tickets. *Best Value for Money* valued at £3.65 per game
£95 - Club Membership and one season ticket. valued at £4.09 per game
£50 - Standard club member. *no change* perfect if you’re wanting to support the club off the field and occasionally drop in to taste the beer.
£40 Parent membership. *no change* £10 discount for a parent to become a full member if he or she wants to be.
- Playing Subscriptions
£120 - Senior Player with season ticket for their partner.
£70 - Student Senior Player with season ticket for their partner.
£65 - U18s Girls or u18/u17 Colt Player
£65 - Junior Boy or Girl u13s to u16s Player
£45 - Mini Rugby Player u7 to u12s including u12s Girls.
£20 - Micro u6s only
£15 - Referee be a fully-fledged club member for £15 if you take up the whistle and ref a few games a season.
We did show a healthy profit bolstered by the government grants and payment schemes, as these stopped it’s no secret we’ve been hit hard as have everyone with the increase costs. Below is day to day increases since we last stepped out onto the pitches at the Gannock. This isn’t taking into account pitch maintenance, club repairs, the list could be endless.
Staff wages: – between 6 - 10%,
Gas: +35%
Electric: +50%
Laundry: up 10%, more to come
Water / sewerage: +5%
Food – between 10 + 20%. After match Pie chips and gravy costs about £3 head before staff/energy.
Cooking oil: +60%
Other licences up: 5-10%.
Coach hire – who knows how much they will be this year, average about £580 last year, most expensive £700.
Insurances: +10%
