MALTON COLTS AT THE READYWith the 1st team’s season drawing to an early conclusion, Malton’s supporters switched their attention to the U17 colts whose season has been one of unparalleled success so far.
On Tuesday 4th April a large crowd was treated to as good a game of rugby as witnessed at the Gannock this season when the colts entertained All Saints School from the Queensland area of Australia. The game finished at 19-12 to the home side but not before they were given a thorough examination by their visitors, only drawing away in the closing stages. The following Tuesday I witnessed a training session on a foul, cold, wet evening with the U16’s invited to provide some opposition. Both sets of lads impressed with their attitude and when it could have been a question of not turning up in the first place or going in for an early shower they all to a man stuck it out with no back chat or messing about and completed an 80 minute session under the keen eye of their coach.
Under the guidance of coach Richard Jones and team manager Andrew Walker and forwards coach Paul Cornforth they have reached the final of the Yorkshire U17 colts cup to be played at Doncaster Knights stadium on Sunday 23rd April, kick off 2.30 pm.

A quarter final visit to Old Otliensians on 4/12/22 ended with a 29-0 win.The semi final at the Gannock on 29/1/23 saw them through to to the final with a 41-12 result against Sandal.
