Evening, Boyley just messaged this over bringing it to our attention. On the 7th January Otley's Scott Irvine sustained a very nasty injury. Below is the link to the Crowdfunder set up for him and the exract from GoFundMe. If you can spare a few quid to help Scott please do.

SCOTT'S GOFUNDME

"Those of you who were at the game on Saturday 7th January vs Sheffield will have witnessed a serious injury to Scott Irvine as a result of an accident during a tackle.
Scott was concussed during the incident and the Physios from both clubs were on the scene immediately to stabilise Scott.
This prompt action by both Physios proved decisive.
Scott was stretchered off and taken into hospital and underwent a complicated operation on Sunday evening with a titanium plate inserted into his upper spine/neck. The operation was a success and Scott was discharged on Tuesday (07.01.2023) evening to start what will be a long physical and mental recovery as he and the family come to terms with the injury.
Scott and his family would like to express their sincere thanks to both Emi, our Head of Medical Services and Guy (the Sheffield physio), for their speed of reaction and decisive actions. They both deserve special recognition for the way they took immediate control of the situation. Scott & the family would also like to thank others around the ground who assisted Scott during his removal from the pitch and whilst waiting for the Ambulance, as well as the hospital staff and paramedics for their care and attention and anyone else involved on the day who helped in any way.
Scott is a self-employed electrician and is now unable to work for the next 6 months whilst he undergoes his physical and mental recovery from the surgery. As a member of Otley Rugby Union Football Club, we feel the need to make sure one of our teammates is kept well at this difficult time and welcome everyone's generosity in helping him out during what is only going to be a very tough time for Scott.
Any funds raised will go to Scott and help him to be more financially stable whilst he is out of work and help pay for his recovery, physical therapy and cost of living."
